Batman gets his trusty sidekick back?

That’s right. Robin is coming back.
Well its all a rumour at the moment, but it may well turn into something solid over the coming weeks. It looks like Christopher Nolan has sent out a production team to find a new lair for Batman and his trusty sidekick for the new film The Dark Knight Rises.
This is a very brave move!!!
It automatically made me scream NOOOOOO at the monitor when I read it in an article on moviefone. The article reads -
The rumour sprang up from WILX.com, a Michigan-based news website that reported a crew from the production had been spotted scouting locations around Grand Ledge’s Fitzgerald Park, showing particular interest in a water treatment facility situated in the middle of the park.
However, the only information about the casting of Robin given by the site was: “Sources say the area is being considered as a hideout for Batman sidekick Robin.”
Bat fan site BatmanOnFilm was quick to scotch the rumour of Robin’s return, stating that he will definitely not feature and that WILX “simply have their facts wrong”. Obviously, neither party can make a definitive claim to the truth of the rumour simply by saying ‘he is’ and ‘no, he isn’t’ without divulging a bit more information, although the recent casting of Inception‘s Joseph Gordon-Levitt has certainly made Robin’s return plausible.
I am unconvinced by it all. If Nolan was to do a Robin character then I think he should take more influences from the “Dark Knight Returns” graphic novel and have a female version!!! Just to spice it up a bit. Another cool section of that book has our caped crusader battling with Superman….That I would love to see!!
Still is is all speculation at this stage. Only time will tell if Robin will actually appear on our screens. Lets hope he is better than Chris O’Donnells one in the very poor “Batman and Robin” from 1997
