In the run up to this year’s annual Grimm festival, Front Room Cinema have been attending the monthly Grimm Up North screenings which has led to the discovery of some fantastic new horror films as well as having the chance to experience some old favourite on the big screen. Some of the stand out films we have seen include The Innkeepers, Shogun Assassin and Juan of the Dead, and Tom is eager to spend a weekend with likeminded horror fans to enjoy what is set to be a phenomenal lineup.

Starting on Wednesday the 3rd October, the festival will run over the course of five days and plays host to a number of premieres, Q & A sessions with a variety of actors & film-makers and the chance to see Grimm’s very first movie ‘Some Guy Who Kills People’ before it is released on dvd and Blu-ray on the 8th October. Standout films include a preview of Sinister, a very special screening of the long-awaited Nightbreed Cabal Cut, and Stitches, which features comedian Ross Noble’s debut film appearance, and he will be there for an exclusive Q & A afterwards.

Tickets are still available for individual screenings and I suggest you snap them up as quickly as possible, as this is guaranteed to be a popular event with tickets already selling fast. You can find out more details about purchasing tickets and the lineup from the Grimm website here but I will also be putting together a special feature in the run up to the festival to let you know which films are likely to scare you silly.
