Tech Tuesday – Linn DSM Systems make everything sound better
I know it is wednesday, but I had an extra day off this Christmas and missed posting this up yesterday, Linn DSM Systems…
OK so this isn’t a bit of tech for the everyman. It may be just for the football players, super rich, or the guys who haven’t got to get every bit of new tech passed their wife! But there is no doubt that this new tech from Linn Systems is very impressive.
With more ways than ever to access music today, from iTunes to Spotify, from YouTube to internet radio, the way we listen to music has changed dramatically. The same goes for TV, movies and games, with iPlayer, Blu-Ray, games consoles and streamed movies giving you much greater choice.
There’s so much content to choose from and so many ways of playing it, how do you ensure you’re getting the best listening experience? Linn’s new range of DSM Systems make everything you listen to at home sound better.
Designed for the modern living room and building on Linn’s existing range of digital streaming (DS) players, DSM Systems make it easy to connect everything you listen to, getting you away from your computer and bringing music back to the heart of the home:
- From MP3 to Studio Master, from music to movies and games, everything sounds better with Linn and it’s easier than ever to enjoy great sound anywhere in your home.
- With options to connect a Blu-ray or DVD player, digital TV or games console, you’ll hear the difference Linn makes to your viewing pleasure.
- Anything you listen to on a PC or Mac can be enjoyed in higher quality through a DSM System: iTunes, Spotify, iPlayer, YouTube, internet radio or streamed concerts.
- Share music from an iPhone or iPad wirelessly over the network to your Linn system without the need for a dock.
Linn Songcast functionality makes it simple to share all of this around the home. Listen to different music in different rooms, or have the whole house dancing to the same beat.
DSM Systems are built for the everyone at home to enjoy. They work on your home network so you can have shared or separate music libraries and everyone can choose music using their preferred app, whether that’s iTunes or Linn’s own Kinsky app.
Linn’s range of DSM Systems are available at Klimax, Akurate and Majik level, in a choice of either black or silver finish. Systems start from £3,535 (including loudspeakers).
Hopefully in the next few weeks I should be going to get a full hands of test of these systems at a demonstration room, I will report back when I have experienced them myself.
Do these LINN DSM Systems appeal to you? Are you an Audiophile? Comment below…

Wow. What a bit of kit. I look forward to your hands on.
If it starts at 3500 what is the top price?
Thanks for the comment.
The top price is £45000 believe it or not!!
I recently read about these in home cinema choice. They look right up my street, shame our budget is tight at the moment.
Thanks for the article.
Thanks John
Yes they are very cool, I love the concept. I hope they sound as good in real life as they state on paper
Wow that price is sick. There’s no way that device feature wise is worth more than 4 or 500.
That is only the entry price too matey, £45000 for the high end version
This machine sounds pretty cool and I’ve never heard of it before. Looking forward to your write up after you test it.
Me too Ted. I am very excited about having a little tinkle on it. It seems to be a very interesting concept.
Linn products are simply the best. Well designed, well built with discreet styling and superlative performance! Worth every penny when you consider it will last 20 years or more. These products also benefit from operating system software updates which not only add new functionality, such as internet radio, but improve the sound quality… The very reason for such an investment in this type of device.
