Thursday List – Top Arnie One Liners
With the re-mastering and release of Total Recall on Blu-Ray in a nest week, Scott takes a look at his favourite Arnie one liners
Arnold Schwarzenegger was a hero when I was growing up in the 80s. Before he went all political and became the Governator, he was the biggest (literally) action star around. His camp humour and one liners became a big part of his films. The guy was never going to be the best actor in the world, but at least he embraced this and use his accent to its full potential. He gave us some of the best ever one liners that are oft quoted to this day.
Here is my favourites, what are yours? Oh I am avoiding the Biggies by the way.
If it bleeds, we can kill it
Film – Predator
Arnie as Dutch explaining the plan after the team shoot down half the forest and manage to cut the Predator’s leg…
Who is your Daddy? And What does he do?
Film – Kindergarten cop
Not strictly a great one liner, but it is the one I use the most to show off my very poor Arnie impression…
Consider THAT a divorce
Film – Total Recall
Arnie has found out that Sharon Stone is not his wife but a secret agent instead, she tries to worm her way out of being shot…. But it doesn’t go well.
Remember when I said I would kill you last? …… I lied!!!
Film – Commando
Commando is a wash with great one liners, every one cheesier than the last. This is my particular fave.
Come With Me If You Want To Live
Film – Terminator 2: Judgement Day
OK, I said I was staying away from the big ones, but I couldn’t resist adding this to my list. It is a line that is immortal with the Terminator films and Arnie.
You Want to be a farmer? Here’s a couple of acres!!!
Film – The Last Action Hero
This line is super funny, also it is followed by a kick in the nuts that will make any mans eyes water

Film – Total Recall
Not strictly a pun but still a great put down. Spoken by Quaid when he is left with a couple of severed arms in his hands!! Nice.
Total Recall: Special Edition is released in UK on Blu-ray on 16th July by Studiocanal. Also it is being screened nationally on the big screen across the country from 10th July, check it out!!

I love many of Arnie’s quotes, such as:
“Hello, cutie pie. One of us is in deeeeep trouble” (The Running Man)
Ha! Yes that is a cracker!! Actually Running Man was full of camp quotes!!
The best quote from that film for me has to be:
“I live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I’m going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine! “

Terrific post! I haven’t seen many Arnie films but my favorites are the ones that you’ve mentioned like “Consider that a divorse”, “If it bleeds we can kill it”, and the one that you avoided because it’s the biggie of all biggies “I’ll be back”.

Always nice to read some Arnie lines. I always have to think of “Get down!”, “I’m the party pooper” and “It’s not a tumor”.

And every line he utters from Batman & Robin should be disqualified simply because it’s Batman & Robin.
HAHAH Commando again!! Such a funny film, the lines were so cheesy!!

‘Get to the Chopper!’
Great article, I picked up his biography for £1 a few months back and it’s surprisingly fascinating stuff reading about his life before he came a superstar. Arnold is a genuine one of a kind legend. I hope Total Recall lives up to expectations

Total Recall is good on Blu-Ray, the remaster is great plus the extras are excellent too, review in coming.

Commando had the very best stupid lines. It has to be up there in my guilty pleasure corner!!
‘Who is your daddy and what does he do’ was the soundtrack to a recent trip away, thanks to the Arnold soundboard you can grab from Google Play.
‘Put the cookie down’ is another personal favourite.

I don’t miss Arnie since he took a leave of absence from acting but I do love so many of his films – even things like Kindergarten Cop, Twins and Junior!

I’m really partial to “GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!” I burst out laughing when I first heard it.
I’ve yet to work in a work place where this isn’t a common phrase to quote when the shit’s hitting the fan!

Nice one Scott. You may see a few of these choice lines appear in one of my “Sit Down’s”. Nostra had suggested a Schwarzenneger and Stallone episode and there’s no doubt that these and others will rear their ugly heads.

Awesome Scott! I love me some Arnold back in my younger years too and have seen all these films many times myself. I’m jeleous that you guys are getting a re-release of Total Recall on the big screen, I wish they do the same here in the States. I do hope the remastered BD is better than the one I currently own.
I wish we could’ve seen I Am Legend with him starring in it, there were so many one liners in that script that I’m sure we’re all be entertained. I always love this line from Kindergarten Cop, “I’m a cop you idiot!”. Love it!
Ted, the remastered BD is amazing. OK the sound feels dated, but it is still a 5.1 DTS HD soundtrack. And the transfer is crispy fresh.

DO IT!! You will not regret it! When watching Total Recall i forgot how many lines I actually remembered!! It is tattoo’d on my brain!
It’s not really a one-liner but I love the Boris and Doris line in True Lies when his wife is hoping for a much sexier and romantic codename.
But I am inordinately fond of True Lies.
There is nothing wrong with being a fan of any Arnie films, especially True Lies!!

I do love Arnie. He’s very much a ‘larger than life’ character but definitely in a good way.
I love all the ones you’ve got already, and the ones suggested in the comments, but my favorite Arnold line of all time is from the end of Predator. It’s not really a one-liner, but it’s endlessly quotable so I think it should count. Also, I don’t remember the actual quote as I feel its parts are endlessly interchangeable, which adds considerably to the fun of repeating it in an Arnold voice.
“I’m here! C’mon! Do it! Kill me! Kill me now!”
